Obituary of Vjekoslav Voltic "Louie"

VOLTIC, Vjekoslav (Alojz) "Louie" It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather, Vjekoslav (Alojz) Voltic, on Sept 5, 2024 at the age of 77. Adored husband of 48 years to Kata Voltic (nee Rezic). Loving and devoted father to Laura Voltic, Ivana and husband Paul Sobol and Anthony and wife Brandy Voltic. Cherished Nono to Octavia, Domenic, Xavier, Leo and Mate. Vjekoslav was born in Tinjan, Istria, Croatia and was predeceased by his parents Anton and Alojzija Voltic (nee Prelac). Dear brother of Marcelo and wife Nellina Voltic and the late Ada Ladavac of Australia. Much loved uncle to Richard and Carmen Voltic and Edward Ladavac and great uncle to Adelle Voltic. Beloved son in law to the late Mate and Ivanka Rezic. Cherished brother in law to Bozo and Kata Rezic and family and Ana Rogulj and family. Life long friend of Toni and wife Katarina Banko and family and dear friend and Kum to the Kolar family. He will be greatly missed by the Hrvatin, Senjanin, Vidovic and Mustapic families. Louie was a retired employee of Chrysler Canada after 31 years of dedicated service and a member of Unifor Local 444. He was a faithful and devoted member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church and assisted in the church hall with his wife Kata, who was the manager for the past 25 years. Together they proudly served the Croatian community of Windsor-Essex County. He will be remembered for his love of watching the game of soccer and enjoyed playing bocce ball with his family and friends. Vjekoslav had unconditional and unwavering love and pride for his family and their accomplishments. Our family wishes to express our heartfelt and sincere appreciation to the doctors and nurses for their compassionate care, especially Dr. Zahrebelny, Dr. Deklaj and Dr. Nour. Friends will be received at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234 on Monday, September 9, 2024 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in procession from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Vjekoslav, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund.
