Obituary of Joanne Halloran (nee Marchand)
Passed away peacefully on September 4th, 2024, at the age of 89.
Joanne was a loving and devoted wife of Lawrence Richard (Dick) of 67 years, and mother of four daughters: Colleen, Catherine (Danny) Beaudry, Anne (Robert) Cunha and Michelle (Gordon) Hearn.
A cherished Meme to 5 grandchildren: Jennifer (Nick) Jenkins, Ashley (Nathan) Deneweth, Erik (Meriem) Cunha, Jillian Cunha and Brigitte (John) Kelly, and 5 great-grandchildren: Isabelle, Sophia, Adam, James and Emma. She will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, family & friends.
Joanne was a dedicated nurse until she retired at the age of 57. She and Dick spent 25 winters as snowbirds in Florida playing golf with their friends. Active in the community throughout her life, Joanne was a member of the Catholic Women’s League for 40 yrs and sang in the funeral choir of both Christ The King and Corpus Christi parishes.
The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Emara Centre for all their care during Joanne’s stay.
Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3048 Dougall Avenue (519-253-7236) on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Corpus Christi Church, 1400 Cabana Rd W, Windsor, on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 1pm. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
Those unable to attend the service in person can attend via live stream.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare "Changing Lives Together" Foundation.
