To the family of the late Scott Higginbottom, I wish to express my deepest sympaty to you at this time. Even though I never knew Scott I too have lost family members that were dear to my heart and soul. At times like these we all need to have the comfort of those around us lending a helping hand in some way or another. At this time I would like to share a positive scripture from the bible found at Revelation 21:4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. This scripture has brought me great strength in the pass and I would like too share it with you at this time

I wish to express my deepest sympathy and prayers especially to Scott Sr as he struggles with this tragedy and the loss of his beloved son. Scott: It's been many years since I last saw your son. I think he was around eight years old when I first met him and to this day I remember that sweet young face.... I think he was around 16 the last time I saw him and I did not recognize him initially but I remember thinking how handsome he was then..... looking at the photo above makes me realize how fast time passes. Your son will always be "forever young". May the good Lord be with him and guide him on his journey to everlasting peace. My thoughts are with you and your family. God Bless. Leenie

No words can dismiss the pain and suffering of losing a precious grandchild so let me just say, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult, impossible time. I think of you often, remembering the fun we had as (children) because thats what we were. Scott's picture took my breath away, he is young Gary, a perfect stranger could see he belonged to you. I am too far away to give you a hug but I am embrasing you both in memory. Life is very pecarious, tomorrow is promised to no one. Know that you were precious to him as well and that his thoughts were always loving ones about you. You both gave him gifts no one else could ever give, I don't think even parents understand the awesome love between grandparents and our grandchildren. We can't explain this nor understand it, just know sweet and precious Scott Michael will be in your hearts and minds forever.

I did not know Scott personally, however, Wendy Truant was my manager for several years and always spoke fondly of her nephews, including Scott; and my son Aaron, age 20, went to the same school as Scott and remembers him. No words can possibly take your pain away; but do know our thoughts and prayers of support are with all of you during this very difficult time.

You were born on the same day as my short and unillustrious racing career began. A stigma that stuck with you and every time I would bring it up, you would say "I know my Mom tells me all the time." As a young boy you were affectionately nicknamed Scotty, something that would also stick with you. As you grew up we wouldn't see each other nearly enough, but every time our paths would cross, the meetings were light hearted and easy going. Making the last visit seem like it was just the day before. You would tell me about how when you ran into a childhood friend of mine he would go on about how much you looked like me. Hearing people say that was comic relief for you but flattery for me. Who knew you would grow up to be so good looking. A couple months ago when I asked you to take on a big project with me, you of course, out of the goodness of your heart and expecting nothing in return were more than eager to help. So we began to work at a Higginbottom's pace, 1/2 hour of work, one hour of shooting the breeze. You would tell me stories of your life experiences with such youthfulness in your words and so much life to live in your eyes. I would hang on every word for I knew that I would finally be able to dust off a few of my stories and you would have to listen. And listen you did, never judging and even offering laughter at the parts that previously only I thought were funny. As the pace of the project continued and the days turned into weeks, I began to realize that it was no longer about the work that was being done. It was about the companionship we were sharing. The endless trips for supplies and the conversations . The ones where I would chose my words carefully, trying to say something wise that you could take with you each day and become someone you could look up to. The conscious effort I made to call you Scott in respect of the young man you had become. It was about looking forward to spending the next day with my new best friend. I never got a chance to tell you but you know now, I look up to you. I'll miss you Dude! Uncle Brian

Hi, My mother nor I knew your son. We happened to come by to the funeral home today to review our contract, and happened to walk in on Michael's precession. We obviously can't really relate nor really quite understand as everyone grieves differently, but we would like to say that we feel your pain, and we know what it's like. My brother, my mother's son, was killed last year in a car accident at the age of 22. It's been the hardest thing we've ever had to endour, and we still miss him just as much. We would just like to express our sympathy and condolences .. there's nothing we can probably say right now to help ease your pain or make anything right, but we would like to let you know that your not alone in this pain. Your in our thoughts and we hope you can pull together as a family to help each other somehow move through this tragedy.
