PERETIN, Zeljko "Zelk"
It is with broken hearts that our family announces the passing of Zeljko, a loving Husband, Father, Brother and Friend. Zeljko passed on August 9, 2024, at the age of 59, while surrounded by his loving family, after a 4 year courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband and life partner to Julie Peretin (nee Lalic) with whom he celebrated 32 years of blessed marriage. Loving and devoted father and best friend to his children, Brittany, Stephanie and Justin Peretin. Cherished and loving brother to his one and only sister, Jasna "Jas" Peretin. Zeljko will be sadly missed by his furry companion, Taz. Predeceased by Parents, Stjepan and Marica Peretin and dear son in-law to Katica Lalic and late husband Duro. Adored brother in-law to Tony Lalic and wife Wendy. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his many cousins, kumovi and friends in Canada and Croatia. Zeljko was a proud Tool and Mould maker with over 40 years of dedicated service. A proud family man, Zeljko took great pride in his children and their achievements. He will be remembered by many as a true friend who loved the social atmosphere of being around people. The family wishes to express their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Laura Voltic, who was there with Zeljko from the beginning of his illness and always went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure the utmost care for him was always provided. Also, many thanks to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre staff, especially Dr, Ghafoor for their dedicated, exceptional and compassionate care provided to Zeljko and his family in their time of need. Friends will be received for visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234, on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service on Thursday, August 15, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home then in procession to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Zeljko's life, memorial donations may be made to Windsor Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation (2220 Kildare Rd. Windsor, Ontario N8W-2X3).
