Obituary of Margareta Karolina Taylor (Weber) (nee Weinz)

Born August 13, 1930. Passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024, at Hospice, at the age of 93. She leaves this world to join the love of her life Frank, and re-unite with her sons who passed before her, Tommy, Robbie & Frankie.

She was born in "Austria" to parents Karolina & Adam (deceased). She leaves behind her sister Wally Cushing (Terry) & family, her son Fred Weber (Suzie), and her grandchildren James Weber (Jackie), Tawny Fathers (Ryan), Heidi Taylor, Lindsey Taylor, & great grandchildren Parker Fathers and Adesynn & Reagynn Weber. Margareta (Greta) as a child of war time Europe, came to Canada with her parents, her sister Wally and her brother Adam Weinz (deceased) (Annie). Together they settled in this area. She attended St. Mary's Academy before her first marriage to Herbert Weber (deceased). She re-married Frank Taylor, who was a devoted loving husband for the rest of her life. Sparkey made every one of her dreams come true. They built their life together on Riverside Drive on the lake, where the family enjoyed many years of fun... boating, fishing, duck hunting, water skiing, bbqing, lawn darts, and visiting with many European friends and relatives, with special mention of her beloved cousins Manfred Paul & family, and Hans & Honnelore Weinz & family. Her recountable events and geography of European history, and how it intertwined in her life, was paramount to her personna. Greta had a keen eye for fashion and was known for her classy looks, always dressed to the nine's with a perfect hairdo (thankyou to Mariella for 30 years). She enjoyed the pomp & circumstance of attending the Straus Balls, where her Austrian roots would shine in those gorgeous ballgowns. Greta was well known in the community and leaves behind lasting friendships from the neighbourhood on Grace Rd too, especially Pam & Jorn. She and Frank also enjoyed a life of travel and spent time in Europe & Florida. Every Florida trip, involved shopping for Easter and Christmas outfits for her grandkids. On birthdays and every occasion she celebrated each of them with special gifts, special love, and of course... her special cake. They meant the world to her, they were her reason for living. She also adored her 3 great grandchildren who were the highlight of her golden years, with so much joy and love for each of them (her sweeties, her angels). She leaves behind many friends, neighbours, and extended family. To know her is to remember her friendly smile, her vibrant energy, her special sunglasses, her signature scent, but mostly her kind heart.

Special thanks to Dr. Tatley, and the Chartwell family of caregivers. We especially thank Dr. Rukavina, Dr. Bergeron and all the Hospice staff who truly took a shine to our lady of grace. The nursing staff and volunteers provided outstanding end of life compassion and comfort to our Mom and our family.
