Obituary of Marc Raymond Roberts

It is with profound sadness and shock that we announce the sudden and accidental passing of Marc Raymond Roberts, aged 25.

Marc was a beloved son, brother, and friend. He is predeceased by his father, Frank Roberts (2012) and survived with unwavering love by his mother, Lucille Roberts (née Gaudette), and his sister, Megan Roberts-Janisse (Steven). Marc also leaves behind his Mémé, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He joyfully looked forward to becoming an uncle and awaited the upcoming arrival of his baby nephew.

Marc struggled bravely with schizophrenia. Despite the challenges he faced, Marc will be remembered for his kind heart, his deep passion for music, love of animals, and for the great love he showed to those around him. Marc was a gifted musician and writer, a talented soccer player, and he found great joy in gardening and being in nature.

Thank you to Marc's family, friends, and dedicated care workers who took the time to show him love and respect, seeing the person underneath the illness. Thank you to Dawn and the A.C.T. team, Dr. Villella, Dr. Montaleone, and all the others who have supported Marc through his illness. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him in his 25 years of life.

To celebrate Marc's life and honour his memory, the family will hold a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, July 24th 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7234), followed by a Funeral Service in the Chapel at 11:00 AM. Interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery (5005 Howard Ave.) where he will then be laid to rest with his late father. Cremation will have taken place prior to memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to organizations and social services supporting mental health and addiction recovery, in hopes of helping others who are struggling with similar challenges and to break down the stigma surrounding mental illness.

May your soul finally rest in peace, dear Marc. We love you so much. Your suffering is over, and your memory will live on in our hearts forever.
