Obituary of Victoria Gorgichuk (nee Choma)
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother Victoria Gorgichuk (nee Choma). She passed away peacefully on July 7, 2024, at the age of 95 at Granite Ridge Sienna Living Care Community, Stittsville, Ontario.
Victoria was married to Nicholas Gorgichuk for 50 years, who predeceased her in 1999. She leaves behind her daughter Linda Malton, her son Ronald Gorgichuk (Margaret Trent), two grandsons Robert Gorgichuk and Michael Gorgichuk, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends to grieve and mourn her passing.
She was born in Windsor, Ontario, the youngest daughter of the late Michael Choma and the late Annie Perzylo Choma, She was the sister of the late Peter Choma (late Elizabeth Edwards), the late Olga (late Russell Cook) and survived by sister Kathleen (late Valentino Neal).
Our mother was a warm and loving woman with a wonderful sense of humour. She was a valued employee at Honeywell Controls in Scarborough for 32 years, while also maintaining a busy homelife. Victoria was a supportive wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She travelled extensively with our father. She was an avid gardener, a good cook and great hostess. She made friends easily. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all of us who loved her.
Many thanks to those who helped Vickie through her long journey with Alzheimer's Disease, including, The Alzheimer's Society, Champlain LIN, Stonehaven Chartwell, Kanata Symphony and finally the staff at Granite Ridge. May she now rest in well deserved peace.
