Obituary of Joan Ryan (nee Arnott)

Passed away peacefully in her South Windsor home of 66 years at the age of 93.

Joan was born on August 13th 1930 to parents Ira K. Arnott (1982) and Charlotte (Lottie) Arnott (nee Richards, 1984), and attended Victoria Public School and Kennedy. Beloved sister of Margaret McLean (2004) and George Arnott (Kathleen, 2008). She was a loving mother to Jean, Robert, George, John, and Douglas. Joan will be reunited with her special son-in-law Dave Stievano (1981) and her lifelong friend Patricia Noonan (2018). She will be deeply missed by her friend and neighbor Marcy David, and her special friend Susan Mancaccini. The family wishes to extend a special thank-you to John and Mary Yared.

Joan’s greatest gifts were her kindness to others and beautiful heart. She enjoyed the times spent relaxing at the family cottage at Bruce Beach in Kincardine, ON, where many memories were made.

A funeral service will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. (519-253-7234) on July 17th 2024 at 10am. Burial to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens. If so desired, donations may be made in memory of Joan to the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society.
