Obituary of Anna Iacobelli
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Iacobelli (nee Di Carlo) on July 4, 2024 at the age of 91 years old in Windsor, Ontario. Anna leaves behind her loving husband, Alfredo, with whom she would have celebrated 69 years of marriage on July 21st, 2024. Proud Mother of sons Enzo and wife Nancy, Orazio and wife Giuseppina. Cherished Nonna of Angela (Bobby), Milan (Greg), Eric (Valeria) and Allisia (Justin). Adored Bisnonna to Luke, Jett and Soleil. Predeceased by her parents Donato and Giovanna Di Carlo, father-in-law Alfonso and mother-in-law Maria Antonia Iacobelli. Survived by sister Enza Carlesimo, and brothers-in-law Domenico De Carolis, Edmondo (Dalia), Mario Volante and sister-in-law Anna Iacobelli . Reunited with her brothers and sisters, Elda (Orazio), Olimpia (Mario), Iria, Dario (Pia), Ersilio (Teresa), brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Pietro Carlesimo, Domenic, Concetta, Gasperina Volante, Elia (Colombo), Eduardo, and Iria. She will be missed dearly by many nieces and nephews, most of whom considered her to be a second mother. She will be fondly remembered by family and friends in Canada and the U.S. Born in Vicalvi, Italy, Anna set sail to Canada in 1954 and settled in Windsor, Ontario. There was nothing she loved more than taking care of her family, and she was the happiest when in the company of her loved ones. Though she was a small woman, the impact she made on those who knew her was larger than life. She will be remembered for her selfless nature, delicious home-cooked meals, loving disposition, and unapologetic authenticity. A visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd E. (519-253-7234) on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 2:00 – 5:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm. Parish Prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Service on Monday, July 8, 2024 at 8:45 am from the funeral home then to St. Angela Merici Church, (980 Louis Ave.) for a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m.. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In memory of Anna, donations may be made to The Hospice of Windsor-Essex or Transition to Betterness or Windsor Cancer Center Foundation.
