Obituary of Gertruda Gorecka
Passed away peacefully on June 25th at home, surrounded by her closest loved ones. She leaves the legacy, of being one of the oldest people to have ever lived in Canada. She was 92 when she left her home country of Poland to be with her daughter in Windsor, and her longevity was a testament to her genuinely positive attitude and her mission to put family above all other earthly entanglements. She survived both World Wars, breast cancer and even being thrown down the stairs by a mugger, and did it all “her” way. She is survived by her daughter Halina Rozalska, grandson Bartek Rozalski, niece Krystyna Mikolajczyk, and her son Rafal Mikolajczyk and his family and she will be mourned by friends in Windsor and Poland. Special thanks to all the wonderful, doctors, nurses and care givers that helped us out over the years.
