With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved Giovanna (nee Maiuri) Distefano, who left us on June 23, 2024, at the age of 82. Loving mother of Sandy (Vito) Flores, John (Rodica Oltean-Garant)DiStefano, Vittorio (Kathy)DiStefano, and the late Domenic DiStefano. Cara Nonna of Paolo Flores, Joey (Julie) Flores, Michael (Samone) Flores, Mark Flores, Michael DiStefano, Samantha DiStefano (fiancee Adam), Teresa DiStefano, Donald DiStafano, Gino DiStefano, Dillon DiStefano, Brianna DiStefano, Sparrow Garlow and Hunter Garlow. Cara Bis-Nonna of Luca Flores and Nico Flores. Survived by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins and many friends that she made over the years. Predeceased by sisters Giuseppina Maceroni, Margarita Malandruccolo. Maria Trocchi, brothers Giacomo "Jack" Mauri, Luigi "Louie" Mauri and Giuseppe Mauri.

Giovanna loved listening to Italian music. She would be the first one to start singing and dancing, making it impossible not to smile and join her.She was also an avid soap opera viewer, binge- watching every episode, getting so into it-yelling, crying, laughing at the screen, and cheering when her favourite characters finally kissed. But nothing pleased her more than spending time with her family. Giovanna enjoyed going to eat at Ciociaro club of Windsor with her kids as she was a member of the club. She always loved a good family party, seeing her kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit and love will forever live in our hearts. Rest in peace, Giovanna. Keep on singing from the clouds above; we can still hear you:

Visitation will be held at the WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E (519)253-7235 on Friday June 28, 2024 from 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service on Saturday June 29, 2024 at 11am in the chapel. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
