Obituary of Momcilo "Mike" Janceski

JANCESKI, Momcilo (Mike)

September 13, 1940 - June 21, 2024

Passed away peacefully at 83 years. Reunited with his loving wife Mara (2011) who he has dearly missed over the past 13 years. Dear father to Sasha and Anissa. Beloved Dedo to Mia and Michael. Predeceased by dear parents Slave and Bozana, beloved brother Bogoja and Vaska and loving sister Vaska and Vaso.

Dear brother to Rada (late Jane), Rade and Nada, Jelena and George and Snezana and Veljo. Beloved brother-in-law to Sime and Grozda, Dusko and Borka, Dragica (late Ane), Jelica (late Blagoja) and the late Dobrica (Slave).

Mike was born in Selo Beloviste, Makedonia, Yugoslavia in 1940. After spending his first 25 years of his life in his beloved old country and just finishing his military service in Slovenija; he made the brave move to Austria in 1965 enroute to his final destination in Canada in late 1966. A few months later, the Leafs won the Stanley Cup and Mike became a life-long fan (and they never won it again!). He loved his adopted new country and was a fiercely proud Canadian and employee at Ford Motor Company for over 32 years before retiring in 2002. He enjoyed his retirement years with his beloved Mara with two big trips to Europe before they could no longer travel as Mara’s health quickly declined. Mike stepped up big as his wife’s primary caregiver when she needed him most in her final year of life.

Mike will be remembered for his kind gentle nature in his elder years and his confident bravado in his youth. He also will be remembered for his Tim Horton's coffee time with his ‘old timer’ buddies at Tecumseh Mall, rarely missing a day for several retirement years until his health declined. He adored his family, especially his grandkids. Special thanks to the Naccarato family who welcomed Mike into their family and enjoyed so many special holidays and occasions together over the past 25+ years. Mike will be sadly missed by those who knew him well including his siblings, nieces, nephews and close friends. He was able to spend some special time with his siblings and close family in his last days under the incredible and compassionate care of all the nurses and doctors at WRH and HDGH.
