Obituary of Margaret Wassell (nee Galbraith)

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on June 15, 2024, at the at age of 83. Reunited with her beloved husband Robert (1986). Cherished Mother of Chris Wassell, and Karen “Karrie” Lowe (Richard). Proud Grandma of Joshua Lowe, Ashley Deleon, Lauryn McDonald, and 8 great-grandchildren. Cherished sister of Melissa Lindridge (Michael), and sister in law of Sandy Hasse (Max), Susan Sutherland (Doug), Sharon Kohs (George) and the late Nancy Johnson (late Lloyd). She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and treasured friends.

Margaret was a devout Catholic. Her faith was deep and we know she is with her Lord and Saviour. She ministered at various Parishes throughout Windsor. Margaret was a Social Worker in Canada and the US prior to her 30 years as a School Teacher with the Windsor Separate School Board. She was also a member of the Carmelite Order. The family would like to thank the staff of Chartwell Oak Park Terrace for all their dedicated care and compassion. The love shown to Margaret was amazing.

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Prayers will be held at 7:30 pm. Family and friends will be received at Our Lady of the Atonement Church (2940 Forest Glade Dr.) on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
