Obituary of Sharon Mueller

MUELLER, Sharon Kathleen (nee Sullivan)

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Sharon Mueller (nee Sullivan), an inspiring teacher, dedicated wife, loving mother and grandmother, and cherished friend, who passed away peacefully on June 13, 2024 at Huron Lodge, surrounded by family. Born in Halifax, NS on July 2, 1942. Sharon lived a life of joy, compassion, patience, and love.

Throughout her career as a teacher with the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board (Catholic Central, St. Michael’s Work Matters), Sharon’s passion for special education and inexhaustible patience touched the lives of many students, and helped to shape them into confident individuals, ready to face the world.

In her role as mother and wife, Sharon exuded boundless warmth and love to her family. She was the devoted wife to Michael and took great joy in her role as a mother to Ryan (Kelly) and Erin (Scott Beattie), for whom she felt a glowing pride. Her grandchildren (Austin, Ella, Sebastian, Samuel, and Fleur) were an immense source of joy to Sharon, who cherished every moment with them.

Sharon was a dear sister to Terrance (Elizabeth), John (Bridget), MaryBeth (Alan Weinberger), and Timothy (Maureen). Predeceased by parents (Gwladys Joan and Mervyn Sullivan), brothers (Mervyn “Butch” and Daniel), in-laws (Elizabeth and Matthias Mueller), and sister-in-law Anna. Survived by sister-in-law Cathy, nieces (JoAnn, Jill, Jennifer, Claire, Sarah-Jane, Ashley and Jacqueline), nephews (Mike and Sean), and great nieces and nephews. Sharon was a loving godmother to Jennifer MacAusland, and Eric and Johnny Buchholzer.

Sharon’s faith was a pillar in her life, having formerly served as a sister with the Sisters of Charity (Halifax). She was a long-time member of Sacred Heart parish, who’s spirituality was a source of strength and comfort.

Sharon’s warm and social nature touched the lives of many around her. She was an active member of the community and lent her time and energy to many groups including the Red Hat Society, TOPS, the Teutonia Club (choir, board member, ladies’ group), and Brentwood.

Many thanks to Huron Lodge and all of Sharon’s caregivers.
