September 15, 1923- June 10, 2024

It is with deep sadness and broken hearts to announce the passing of our beloved mom, Virginia, at the age of 100. Born September 15, 1923 in Limerick Saskatchewan, though her birthday was always celebrated on September 30th. Daughter of Radu and Safta Tonita, and stepdaughter of Nick Lucan.

She moved to Windsor at the age of 18 and found so much joy in sewing, crafting, and gardening. She loved playing cards, especially Pepper and Euchre, with her seniors groups and many friends.

She is now reunited with her loving husband, Collins (Nov 1982). Cherished mother of Deborah Silverson-Pickthall (Doug). Proud Grandma of Stephen Pickthall (Vanja) and Kristen McCabe (Todd) and adoring Great Grandma to Connor McCabe, Mila Pickthall and Maren McCabe. Predeceased by sisters Mary, Helen, Anne, Fanny, Connie, Sophie, and brother John. Auntie to many loving nieces and nephews. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E (519)253-7235 on Monday June 17, 2024 from 10am until time of funeral services at 11:00am in the chapel.
