I worked with Tonia for many years at the nursing home. I knew her to be a kind and gentle woman who often went above and beyond the call of duty in caring for her residents. It was a pleasure to have known and worked with her. May she rest in peace. I wish strength and comfort to her family during this time of loss. Chris(topher) her former co-worker

It all began in 1978 when my parents bought the house next door. For 45 years many coffee chats were shared from one porch to the other and a life long friendship between neighbours was shared. Together our families experienced the many ups and downs that life brings our way. We shared laughter and love, tears and pain, blessings and loss and through it all our families always looked out for each other. I will forever miss our porch chats and her check ins with me when I would pop by my parents. Always a kind word to be shared, concern and advice when you needed it and most of all love and compassion when your world was falling apart. She would always tell me that everything would be alright and it would work out for the better. Hope you are having a coffee and porch visit with my Mom and Dad in heaven❤️ Sending all my love to Sandy, Ed, Chris and your families during this difficult time.

Tonia was one of the best neighbours/friends the Plante family has ever had, spanning three generations! We send our sincere and heartfelt condolences. I have had hundreds of conversations "over the fence" with Tonia. For 38 years we have been neighbours. She was always very kind to me when I was a teenager. She was a true "block mother". And we spent many hours chatting about our dogs, her children and grandchildren. I suspect I will continue to look for her to wave to on the porch every morning on my way to work and on my way home. Tonia's passing is a deep loss to our little community. Her presence has always been a wonderful reminder of love and friendship amongst neighbours. She comforted me when I lost my own father and mother. And now my heart breaks for my friend Sandy and all of Tonia's children, grandchildren, family and close friends. Rest easy dear friend. You will be remembered by so many more people than you could have ever imagined. Kerry Ippolito

Tonia was my Aunt but we were only 5 years apart. We were partners in crime but she was the one disciplined as she was suppose to look after me. I will miss her sense of humour and uncensored advice she would give. She always called my husband Ian family. Grandchildren if you ever feel like there is a boot in you butt, it is her telling you to smarten up. Till we meet again, love you .
