Obituary of Dionisio Muscedere
As a family, we are devastated to announce the passing of our patriarch, Dionisio, at the age of 92. He passed away peacefully at the home he built in Windsor with his caring family by his side. His departure has left a huge void in the hearts of his family and his wife of 65 years, Filomena. A proud father to John (Laura), Marcel, and Tony (Sandra). Loving Nonno to his grandkids Bryan (Alexandra), Danielle, Monica, and Katerina, who were the light of his life. Uncle to the late Antonio (Clara), Mario (Loreta), late Pasquale (Antonia) and, Caterina Ricci (Americo). Dionisio will be deeply missed by his numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in Canada, Italy, France, and the United States.
Dionisio was best known for being a family man, with a zest for life and humor. His journey began in Fontechiari, a small town in Italy in the province of Frosinone. Like many during those times, he began working at a very young age. He worked in Paris, France in his early years before immigrating to Canada in search of better opportunities. Dionisio arrived in Canada in 1966, and after he was settled, his wife and two young sons joined him from Italy. He worked hard his entire life in the construction industry and at Kelsey Hayes Local 195. Through the years, he earned a reputation for delivering high-quality workmanship with integrity as he owned and operated his business DM Construction Ltd.
Even with his long work hours, he always took time to carry on Italian traditions with pride such as gardening, making homemade sausages, prosciutto, and wine, and playing Bocce and Scopa. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed annual trips to Northern Ontario with his son Tony. He was a proud member of the Ciociaro Club. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E.) 519-253-7234 on Thursday May 30th 2024 from 2pm-5pm and 7pm-9pm with Parish Prayers at 4:00pm. Funeral mass to be held the following day, May 31st 2024 at St Angela Merici Church at 9:30am. Entombment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
