Obituary of Louis Lemire

LEMIRE, Louis. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Louis, a loving husband, brother and uncle on May 23, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 82. Beloved husband and best friend to Vera (nee Atkins) with whom he celebrated 62 years of blessed marriage. Predeceased by his parents Alexander and Irene Lemire, and brother Donald Lemire and wife Priscilla. Cherished brother to Gloria Denomey and late husband Ron, Wayne Lemire and late wife Gladys (2020), and Barbara Lemire (Debbie). Dear brother-in-law to the late Ernie Atkins (Dot), and the late Shirley Janisse (Don). Adored uncle to many nieces and nephews. Louis will be remembered for being an avid musician who enjoyed playing the guitar, and exhibiting a passion and love for listening to and writing his own music. He also enjoyed cars, especially his 1965 Plymouth Fury, and was known to help his neighbours with his "handyman" skills. A heartfelt and sincere thank you to the staff at the Windsor Regional Hospital, Met. Campus, especially Dr. Jeremy Cavers and nurse Carter for their exceptional care and compassion they provided to Louis and his family. Family and friends will be received at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E, (519) 253-7234 on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. with Parish prayers at 7:30 p.m. by nephew, Dan Lemire. Funeral Service on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Louis, memorial donations may be made to the Windsor-Essex County Humane Society.
