Obituary of Jerome S. Terris
TERRIS- Jerome S.
June 9, 1939 to May 9, 2024
Jerome S. Terris passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 9, 2024, in Windsor, Ont. at the age of 84. He now joins his beloved wife, the late Anne Marie Terris (d. May 9, 2022) two years to the day of his “Annie’s” passing.
Jerome was a devoted father to Stacey (Rick) Ditchfield of Windsor, Ont., and Marc (Wendy) of Excelsior, Minnesota. A very proud grandpa of Emma, Ashley, Luke, Evan, Sophia, and Matthew. His “Grinch faces,” “horn” noises, “shark bites” and “big lion” roars will be cherished memories that bring laughter and smiles to his grandchildren.
Jerome was an engineer who worked across Canada and internationally until he finally retired. A die-hard Red Wings fan, he would argue incessantly with his wife Anne Marie that Gordie Howe is the greatest hockey player of all time. The two can now rekindle that conversation as they are reunited.
Jerome’s strong Catholic values and faith were visible to his last breath as he held his rosary. A parishioner of Good Shephard Parish and St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Jerome was constantly surrounded by prayers from his friends for strength, hope, and healing.
Marc and I wish to express our sincere gratitude to The Riverside Place Extendicare and La Chaumiere Retirement Home staff for their unwavering devotion and exemplary care of our father. His “guardian angels” listened to his stories and laughed at his jokes while providing care and attention to him. We are truly grateful for your kindness and compassion.
As per Jerome’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date in Minnesota and Windsor. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Hospice of Windsor. Arrangements entrusted to the WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd E (519)253-7235.
