Obituary of Marko Crnokrak

Born in Pristeg, Dalmacija, (former) Jugoslavija on April 3, 1933, and passed away peacefully May 8, 2024, at the age of 91 years surrounded by his loving family.

Beloved husband to Stevanija (nee Malbaša) for 60 years and much-loved Tata of Bosiljka Miller (Hugh William), Milena Crnokrak (Brad Toulouse) and Jelena Crnokrak (James McCourt). Proud Dedo of Luke and Sean Miller.

Dear brother of Jela (late Ðuro) of Serbia and Ljubomir of Croatia and predeceased by brother Jovan and sisters Joka and Marija, and brother-in-law of Dmitra (Spase), Soka (Milan), Milena (Svetozar), Jelena (Bato), Ruža, and predeceased by Vukan and Ratko. Dearly remembered by nephew Željko Šuša and family and Kumovi Bukarica of Windsor. Survived by many family members, friends, and neighbours in Canada, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Australia.

Marko immigrated to western Canada from former Jugoslavija in 1957 before moving to Windsor in 1966 where he placed roots with his family. He was a dedicated employee of Ford Motor Company for 32 years.

Marko was an avid history buff and reader. He loved to travel often back to his homeland to visit with his family. He was a proud member of Gračanica Serbian Orthodox Church in Windsor.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Riverside Place for their compassionate care shown to Marko in his last years.

As per Marko’s wishes, he will be repatriated to his place of birth in Croatia.

Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Monday, May 13, 2024, from 6-9 pm. Prayers at 7:30 pm.
