Obituary of Julijana Suserski

SUSERSKI, Julijana (nee Lomen)

On Saturday, May 4th, 2024, in her 98th year, Julijana Suserski (Lomen) passed away into the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Her faith is made sight and she is forever in Glory. Julijana was born May 21, 1926 in Kulpin, Yugoslavia where she lived until her move to Ontario, Canada in July 1992.

Throughout her life Julijana was dedicated to serve her family, friends and anyone around her with an exceptional gift of hospitality. She loved baking, cooking and enjoyed reading, journaling, sewing, crocheting and gardening. Seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren was one of her greatest joys. Julijana’s deep devotion to God was evident in her daily life as she put others before herself. She lived her life according to Colossians 3:2 “Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things”. Julijana was the example of a devoted Christian. Her joy and kindness will always be remembered.

The warmth of her love as wife, mama, starká (grandmother) and babička (great grandmother) will be cherished forever in our hearts. Julijana is survived by her devoted husband Pavel in their 73rd year of marriage, daughter Anna Bartos (Samuel), son Pavel Suserski (Lydia) and her five grandchildren Vlasta Canji (Michael), Samuel Bartos (Lynette), John Bartos (Erika), Branko Suserski (Tatijana) and Vlasto Suserski (Rachel). Julijana also leaves behind her ten great grandchildren Rachel (Max), Grace, Samuel, Evalyn, Lucy, Maxumus, Simon, Elena, Malakai and Sarah. Julijana was predeceased by her parents Pavel and Alžbeta Lomen (Kuštra) and all of her nine older siblings; Zuzana Červenji (Michal), Ján Lomen (Katarína), Pavel Lomen (Mária), Anna Čeman (Michal), Samuel Lomen (Zuzana), Mária Lacko (Ján), Ilona Zima (Ján), Katarína Maglovski (Samuel), Alžbeta Valentík (Michal).

Julijana’s often quoted Bible verse:

John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even though he dies. And whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Jan 11:25-26

Povedal jej Ježiš: Ja som vzkriesenie a život. Kto verí vo mňa, bude žiť aj keď umrie.

Nik neumrie naveky, kto žije a verí vo mňa. Veríš tomu?
