I will always have wonderful memories of Marina Clemens. As the Executive Director of Drouillard Place, she was a reliable and steady field placement supervisor to many of our social work students for many years and a great community partner to the School of Social Work. Personally, I was highly inspired by Marina and her wonderful work in the community. There was something powerful in how she carried herself-strong yet always kind and considerate. It is not often that we have the privilege to be in the presence of giants in our profession-and Marina was truly a giant in our type of work. I will miss her greatly. My sincerest condolences to her family, friends, her community, and all who loved her.

Our sincere condolences to the Clemens Family. My sister Laurie and I, along with our Mother Adine, were long time neighbours of the Clemens family on Hall Ave. Marina and Wally were always very kind to us. I kept in touch with Marina over the years when making annual Christmas donations at the Drouillard Place. Marina was a foundation at Drouillard Place. She will be missed by the many peoples whose lives she touched.
With deepest sympathies,

I did not know Mrs Clemens personally, but as a life long Windsorite reading the tribute to this fine woman of faith and community service member I was touched to tears. What an extraordinary woman. The life long dedication and love she had for our city and in service to it's citizens, is inspirational. It is clear that Windsor has suffered greatly with the loss in her passing. If only each and every one of us could give even one single percent of ourselves to service of another. A true display, by this amazing human being, of Gods love for us, imagine what a wonderful world this could be. I have truly been moved by her memory and in tribute to consciously make more of an effort to stop and take a good look around to see how I can do more for others, in honor of the life and her living legacy of love and the contribution she gave to us all. Ma'am rest eternally in the reward of heavenly peace as God calls another angel of earth home, to collect her wings. A true stalwart and most faithful servant. Thank you for in death, you have reminded me, teaching by example what it truly means to be living life worthwhile. Rest well, now and forever, in paradise.

My deepest condolences to Wally, Jason, Erin and their families. It is very sad….we will miss her a lot. She was a tremendous woman - determined, brilliant and so caring of all people.
She was the first president of the board of directors for Extend a Family, Windsor 1981 and continued advocating and supporting for many years. She helped me found the organization, apply for and receive government funding. EAF provided friendship for disabled children with host families while their families received respite. Her volunteer work for EAF was an important part of the foundation that helped to build Family Respite Services in Windsor.

On behalf of Assumption University in Windsor, we extend our sincere condolences to the Clemens Family on the passing of Dr. Marina Clemens. In 2009, Assumption University conferred an honorary doctorate on Marina for her work at Drouillard Place. Dr. Clemens provided a strong example to our community by feeding the hungry, sheltering those without homes, and bringing comfort to those in need. May we honour Dr. Clemens by learning from her selfless work.
In sympathy,
Assumption University

Marina was a powerful advocate for the public interest. For those that did not always have a voice, Marina spoke passionately and fiercely for the Drouillard and Ford City residents. The City Planning Department welcomed her insights
and included many of her ideas in the plans and projects for revitalizing the neighborhood she proudly fought for. She was a true 'Champion' in every sense of the word. She will be missed by many and her positive contributions will be part of the community for years to come.

To Marina's family,
My heart and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Your mother, grandmother, wife and sister was such a special person. Marina has always been such an amazing force of nature, and such a strong woman that it is hard to fathom her passing. The only truth I know about losing someone precious is that they live forever in our hearts and memories. The hurt we feel is a reflection of how much that person added to our lives, and the loved shared. Marina was extremely kind to me. When I moved to Windsor she made a point of not just being my boss as Chair of the Board, but becoming my dear friend. She looked out for me and provided valued guidance. She has been devoted to Windsor Essex Community Housing since 2007 and to Drouillard Place long before that. Her work was guided by her faith and core values, and I respect her for that. In the last few years she has been actively engaged in the development of Meadowbrook Place, where we have planted a Magnolia tree in her memory. Each spring the tree will bloom and shine its beauty on the world, as Marina has done. Rest in Peace Marina. xo
