Obituary of Folasade Victoria Famuyide

With heavy hearts and total submission to God, we announce the heavenly transition of our sister, mother, in-law, and grandmother, Folasade Victoria Famuyide (nee Oluwateru). Folasade passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, to reunite with her loving husband, Sunday. An amazing mom to her children, sons-in-law, and grandchildren, Folasade lived an exemplary life of compassion and love, a legacy she will be fondly remembered for.

Folasade attended Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo and Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba after completing her high school at St Louis Girls’ Grammar School, Owo. She taught for 35 years in various schools such as AUD V and St. Michael’s Primary School, Ikare Akoko as well as Methodist Primary School and CAC Primary School, Egbe Ekiti, where she retired as the head teacher and made lasting impact in the school and the community.

As a devout Christian, Folasade held unto her Faith even in death. She volunteered dutifully in her local church, St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Arigidi Akoko where she also served as the choir patron, women secretary, treasurer, and usher. Folasade dedicated her life to serving others, in fact, she is a mother and aunty figure to many in her community.

Our beloved angel will be remembered for her extreme kindness to family and strangers, her beautiful smile, service to humanity, and warmth. Folasade enjoyed baking wedding cakes, knitting, shopping for shoes, clothes, and jewelries, investing in her poultry farm, and spending time with family.

Folasade was predeceased by her parents Joshua and Dorcas Oluwateru as well as her beloved brother Adetona Oluwateru. She is survived by her brothers, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Folasade’s peaceful life, kindness, and excellence will continue to inspire her family and friends.

Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 1700 Tecumseh Road East on Monday, April 29th, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel.
