Dear brother of Brian Rizok, George Rizok (Wendi Knudsen), Joseph Rizok and Janet Pietrangelo, late Christella Rizok (2021) and Frank Rumiel and Starla O’Connor and brother-in-law Dan O'Connor. Rizok (1978) and Mary T. Rizok (nee Burke) (2003), nephew David O’Connor (2017), and niece Tiffany Rizok (2022). John AKA Johnny Smoke, had numerous positions in life, Silverwood’s Dairies, Chrysler Corporation. He spent many years working in Alberta. John was a skilled carpenter, he also spent many hours roofing and doing renovations. He was also a member of the Canadian Army Reserve 39 Tech. Sqn RCEME. John really enjoyed sitting around campfires and having a cold beer with friends and family. He loved his time in Alberta, at Bow Rivers at Danny and Starla’s. His best time was spent in Big Beach on Grandma Christie’s farm, spending summers with the Rizok, Burke and McMaster cousins. John had a love for country music, and he loved to dance. He would have made a great comedian, but a better lawyer. In his younger days he really enjoyed driving his motorcycles. John was presented a Certificate of Appreciation by the staff of the Windsor Fire and Rescue Services for his heroic efforts in saving a women’s life in September of 1993. He spent his retirement time reading law books. John was very grateful for the friendships he had at Arthur Reaume Manor Apartments. Most of you have heard the saying “he would give you the shirt off his back”, John would not give you the shirt off his back because he already gave it away and would probably have to give you his pants instead. John’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Windsor Regional Hospital - Ouellette Campus in the ICU for their care and support. Family and friends will be received at Windsor Chapel - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd.
