Obituary of Elda Serafina Fabris
Elda Fabris (nee Gava) passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024 at the age of 88 surrounded by her loving family. Elda was the widow of Mario and was predeceased by her brothers Phil and Aldo. Loving mother of Gary (Brenda nee Harrison), Sandra, and Paul. Devoted Nonna to Paige, Harrison, Crystal, and Christopher. Bisnonna (Great Grandmother) to Oliver. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews in Canada, US and Italy.
Elda was an honours graduate of W.D. Lowe High School and the Pastoral Institute, Assumption University. She worked loyally as a court stenographer for the City of Windsor; legal secretary in Detroit, secretary at the Caboto Club, pastoral minister at St. Angela’s and St. John Vianney Church and also taught religious education. Elda loved travelling and cooking for her friends and loved ones. She always made sure that everyone had enough to eat, and then some. We will all miss the aroma of her cooking, her generosity, beautiful gifts, and the way she skillfully took charge of all situations.
