Obituary of Bernard Franklin McRae

McRAE, Bernard Franklin It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernard Franklin McRae at the age 74, on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. He passed away suddenly at Huron Lodge surrounded by his loved ones, after a longtime devotion to his family. He is survived by his closest and best friend, and love of his life for 54 years, his wife Joan Marie (nee Danaher) Cherished son of the late William (1992) and Grace McRae (1996) Devoted father of seven children, Bernard Allen McRae, Constance Marie and Husband Rick Weldon, Brian William McRae and wife Colleen, Thomas James McRae, Karen Bernice and husband Norm Russette, William Michael McRae and wife Kelly, Christine Frances and husband Michael Barichello. Loving Papa to eleven grandchildren (his pride and joy) Scott and Adam Weldon, Diana McRae, Joel Poirier, Danielle, Chantel, Rachelle, Annie, Erika Russette, Mitchell and Matthew McRae, Olivia and Marcus Barichello. Adored brother of William McRae and wife Theresa, Donald McRae (deceased 1996), Raymond McRae, Mark McRae and wife Maureen, Cheryl Mallen, Vince McRae and wife Linda (deceased) and many family and friends. Bernard retired from Chrysler Canada and a member of CAW Local 444 with 34 years of dedication, from which he provided a great life for his family and created lasting memories. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Thursday, November 6, 2008 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and friends will be received for visitation on Friday, November 7, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association (Windsor Chapter) or United Way.
