Obituary of Jerome Marier

It is with great sadness that the family of Jerome Marier announce his exit from this life into the arms of his beloved family that welcomed him home. Greeting him in Heaven is wife Judy (2022), son Jerry/TJ (1997), grandson Jason (2019), and great-grandson Brandon (2011). Predeceased by his parents Antonio and Rosa Marier, brothers and sisters Marge Ellwood (Oliver), Paul (Audrey), Jackie Papineau (Leo), Marcel (Lou), Maurice (Madeleine), Jeannette Homick (Casey), and Jeannine (René).

He is survived by his children Marc (Terri), Denis (Linda Sabatini), and Carrie Dufour (Tom). Beloved Pépé to Katie Rebner (Adam), Michelle Whitehead (Danny), Jenna Mariani (Nick), Scott (Camille), Matt Dufour (Jen), Steven Dufour (Krista), and AJ Dufour (Sarah). Adoring Pépé to his great-grandchildren Pearl, Smith, Ellie, Isla, Calen, Rocco, Romeo, Josh, Tyler, Nicolas, Emma, Evan, Emmett, Josephine, Ella, Lily, and Isaak. He is the last of his generation and is also survived by many adoring nieces and nephews. Jerome made many friends in his 87 years, some of whom welcomed him home and some who will greatly miss him here. Special friend to Larry Ducharme (Wendy) and deep gratitude for his loving dedication and support of Jerome.

He will be sadly missed by his faithful companion Buddy Jr.

Jerome was the previous owner of Marcel's Collision, started by his brother Marcel in 1951, one of the oldest family-run automotive businesses in Windsor-Essex, now owned by son Marc and granddaughter Michelle. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a proud member of the Riverside Sportsmen Club and Windsor Yacht Club. He loved music and was amazing on his harmonica. Caesar's Casino was his "happy place," where he befriended many casino employees. Jerome died a hero in his battle with diabetes and kidney disease and will be greatly missed by the many health care workers involved with his dialysis treatments where he was known for his generous distribution of chocolate bars.

The family is deeply grateful to the many doctors, nurses, and health care professionals who assisted him with their deep compassion and expertise. Memorial Visitation at Windsor Chapel (Banwell) on Friday, March 15th, 2024, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm and 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Eulogies and memories will be shared at 4:30 and 8:30 pm. Cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerome's name to Oneday Dreams, or the charity of your choice are greatly appreciated. Think of Jerome with fondness and a smile whenever you hear the song "My Way," by Frank Sinatra (his anthem). "Fish on!"
