Obituary of Michael Nehr
It is with enormous sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Mike. Dearest husband of Elizabeth Nehr (Niven) for 57 years. Cherished father to his son Michael C. Nehr, and his wife Christine, and a wonderful Pa to his grandsons, Brandon Nikolas and Alexander Michael. Michael loved his family so much and was so happy to be with us. He was a family man above anything else, and so proud of his family and his love for us was returned by all his loved ones. Mike was the son of Elizabeth and Nikolaus Nehr, and brother to the late Anna Krumbacher (Andy) who passed away on February 7th 2024. Mike was the big brother to his sister, Helen Miller. Mike also adored his many nieces and nephews.
Mike was generous to a fault, and treated everyone with respect. Mike was retired from Manor Tool and Die. He was saddened that many of his friends and relatives had passed on. He was so kind, and never said anything bad about anybody. Mike was also very devoted to his in-laws, the late Mary and Alex Niven and their family.
In the evenings, Mike and Betty would watch the game shows on TV, and when they bedded down at night, would say to each other ‘Gute Nach, I love you.’ Life won’t be the same without him, but he would want us to go on. Words alone cannot express our sorrow in losing such a great man, who will be missed forever by his loved ones. A heartfelt thank-you to all the medical staff who cared for Mike over the years, and Windsor Regional Hospital - Ouellette Campus, especially Anthony and Jen. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins - 1 Peter, 4:8.
