Obituary of Anka Vulakovich
VULAKOVICH, Anka "Anna" (nee Katkic)
November 25, 1930 - March 1, 2024
Born in Bosiljevo, Croatia and passed away peacefully at Extendicare Tecumseh, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 93. Beloved mother to Zeljka "Mary" Udzbinac (George), and Zdravko "Joe" Vulakovich (Lisa). Cherished "Baka" to Derek Udzbinac (Jessica), Jessica Watson, and Tara Vulakovich. Great-Baka to Madison Watson, Mateo and Hazel Udzbinac. Predeceased by parents Mijo and Bara Katkic. Dear sister to Franjo Katkic (Mira), Ruza Jakovcic (late Ivan) and predeceased by siblings Zora Blazic, Drago Katkic, and Ivan Katkic and surviving wife Barbara; and all of their families. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Anka was faithful and devout member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church. She was very proud of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anka enjoyed cooking the traditional Croatian dishes and baking kolaci for her family. A heartfelt and sincere thank you to the staff at Extendicare Tecumseh and Brouillette Manor for their compassion and care provided to Anka over the years. Visitation at Windsor Chapel (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7235 on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Parish prayers at 7:30pm. Funeral Service on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 9:45am from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund or Alzheimer Society of Windsor and Essex County.
