Obituary of Eva Kahabka
We sadly announce the passing of Eva Kahabka, after a long battle with health issues.
She reunites with her husband, Josef, son, Kurt, and leaves behind her son Mark, brother Michael (late Katie) Gross, and sister Margaret (late Frank) Reidl, along with a niece, Joanne (late Andrea), and several nephews (Michael, David, Stefan).
She will be missed by all who knew her.
Eva was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the daughter of hard-working European immigrants. The family eventually moved to Windsor, where she met and married her husband, Josef.
Eva sacrificed her career as a legal secretary in order to be a full-time mom and devote herself entirely to the raising of her 2 children, Kurt and Mark.
Eva was a very talented woman and was successful at most everything she undertook. When Josef found himself temporarily unemployed and decided to start his own business (Dynamic Tool and Mould), Eva joined him as an equal partner and handled the secretarial duties from home. She enjoyed swimming, crafts and creating floral arrangements. She had a strong devotion to the Mother of Jesus and prayed the rosary regularly and devoutly.
A private funeral service has taken place. Thanks to the many staff and health care providers from Metropolitan hospital, Paramed, SE Health, and Windsor Hospice where she completed her earthy life, and to their volunteers, especially Linda Labute. Special thanks also to Fr. Glen Ball for presiding over her funeral Mass, and to Windsor Chapel - Banwell Chapel, for handling the arrangements.
