Obituary of Eric Newton
NEWTON- Eric Gordon
April 28, 1986 - February 17, 2024
In loving memory of Eric Newton, whose zest for life and mischievous charm lit up every room he entered. Eric was fiercely proud of his Scottish roots, a true character whose quirky sense of humour was frequently accompanied by a sparkle in his eyes and the most contagious hearty laughter - the kind that will echo in our hearts forever.
Eric’s gift of gab was matched only by his heart of gold. With every story he spun, he effortlessly put others before himself, leaving a lasting impact on anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting him. It was no secret that Eric loved cooking, and given his stature, his enthusiastic appetite left us wondering where he put it all.
What was a secret was where all the chocolates would go whenever he was around. Luckily, he never resorted to blaming Charlie, his beloved furry companion, for any missing human treats. Charlie is going to miss the affection Eric showered him with as well as the fish suppers he would get every year on his birthday.
As one of Eric’s favourite artists, Frank Sinatra sang, 'Softly, as I Leave You,' Eric too leaves us softly, his playful antics coming to a quiet end, leaving our hearts filled with the joy of his kindness and the legacy of a love only he was capable of.
Eric will be greatly missed by his Mother, Aileen (Cam) Nadeau, Father Michael (Peggy) Newton, his Brothers Bryan (Aubrey) Newton, Justin Nadeau (Krista Hoidge), Nicholas (Megan) Kerr; Sisters Kimberly Nadeau, Corey Kerr and Grandmother Leanne Nadeau.
Also survived by many Aunts and Uncles: Alan (Karen) Lynch, Girard (Heather) Nadeau, the late Jeanne Chouinard, Claudette Nadeau, Daniel (Gay) Nadeau, Gloria Nadeau, Monique (Richard) Fleury, Lucy (and the late) Gary Short, Linda (Brad) Botham and Bill (Manisone) Kerr. Also missed by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his grandparents, Isabel Glen, Alexander Lynch, Richard and Wanda Newton, Eileen Kerr and Gilles Nadeau.
Special thank you to Lindsey and Steve for providing a new and loving home for Charlie.
