Obituary of Joseph Doucet

It is with much sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear Joseph (Joe) Doucet, February 15th, 2024.

Joe is now the guardian angel of his beloved wife and best friend, Kim Doucet (Elliott); step- son Kyle Elliott, who he loved unconditionally, and his fur baby Lizzy.

He is predeceased by his father Charles (Al) Doucet-2001 and mother Marcella Doucet (Clarke)-2002.

He leaves behind his brother Marc Doucet (Nereo Bonomo) and sister Alva Mesaros (Ken Lang). Son in law to Chuck and Karen Elliott, sister in law Kerry Elliott (Gian Vizzutti), many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends, who will miss him.

Joe was employed with Ventra Assembly for many years, where he met people who he called his work “family”. He always said “it’s not the work that makes you show up, it’s the people I get to see every day”.

Joe lived his best life, on his terms, and will forever be missed for his quick wit, sense of humour, but most of all his caring and helpful soul. He never had a chance to see his beloved Maple Leafs win the cup, but always held out hope that it would be their year.

Kim would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Windsor Police, Fire and Ambulance Services for all their assistance during a difficult time. A special thank you to Constable Rae-Lynn Massey, who was by her side until the end.

Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:30am, with family and friends being received one hour prior. Cremation to follow.
