Obituary of Kathie Pleli

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kathie Pleli, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, on February 5th, 2024, at the age of 65. Kathie, a lifelong resident of Windsor, Ontario, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Windsor and raised in LaSalle, Kathie devoted her life to nurturing the young minds of her community as an early childhood educator for the City of Windsor. Her dedication to children’s education and well-being left a lasting impact on many lives throughout her career.

Kathie had a zest for life and adventure that was evident in her love for travel, golf, music-especially the works of David Bowie-and her unwavering commitment to helping others. Her fun-loving, happy-go-lucky nature and joy for life were infectious, bringing light and laughter to every occasion.

She is predeceased by her daughter, Nicole (1991). Kathie is survived by her loving husband, Nick; her sons, Matt (Amrita) and David (Jacqueline); her grandsons, Jeevan and Nikola; her brother, Frank Hubert (Melanie); and her sisters, Valerie Hubert and Margie Brinacombe (Terry). She will be deeply missed by her extended family, friends, and all who knew her.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Figaro, the Victorian Order of Nurses, Hospice support workers, and all the personal support workers over the years for their compassionate care and support.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E.) 519-253-7234 on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 11 am - 1pm. A funeral service to celebrate Kathie’s life will be held at 1 pm. The family welcomes all who knew Kathie to join them in remembering her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought to their lives.

In Kathie’s memory, we hold dear the love and joy she shared with us all. We love and miss her deeply.
