Obituary of Daniel Rennert
RENNERT-Daniel Jacek
Daniel Jacek Rennert, 47 years young of Windsor, Ontario, passed away on Saturday February 3rd, 2024, after almost a 10-year battle with Neuroendocrine Cancer. He did not pass away as a cancer patient, but as a Warrior. The fight defined his vivacious spirit to live and unconditional love for his family and his adopted family combined of special friends and coworkers. He endured every possible treatment and medication in existence. His famous words were, “No matter what the consequences of the treatment, I will try it. I will fight cancer to the end.” His dedication, resilience, and strength come from the most beautiful and generous heart that ever existed in the Rennert family. Both his amazing spirit and beautiful heart shall live forever in all of us who loved him.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Nadia, and his four children: Sevana, Saverio, Mateo, Melena, his father Herbert and his late mother, Irena, his sisters Ewelina, Mirella (Peter), his mother and father-in-law, Loreta and Aldo, his brothers and sisters-in-law Patrizia and Anthony and Laura and Fabio, his precious nieces and nephews, Brooke, Daniel, Isabelle, Giulia, Brianna, Luca, Ariel, and Ashton. He is cherished by many aunts and uncles, cousins, and life-long friends at home as well as in Poland, Germany, and Italy whose lives he deeply impacted.
Daniel Jacek Rennert was born on June 28th, 1976, in Poland. He came to Canada in September of 1989 because of political asylum due to the communist regime. He attended Catholic Central High School and graduated from the St. Clair College Mechanical Engineering Technology Program. During this time in his life, Daniel was fortunate to meet the love of his life, Nadia, whom he later married. They shared 26 memorable years together and have been blessed with four amazing children who made him a proud father.
Dan, as everyone called him, had many other roles: he was a caregiver, teacher, financial advisor, man of his word, historian, political guru, professional debater, sport enthusiast, a soccer player, an avid soccer fan of Toronto FC, one of a kind free style dancer, jokester, and the life of a party.
The two titles that defined Dan most were: Dan the Family Man and Dan the Quality Assurance Supervisor for Magna Integram Windsor Seating. Being with his family was always Dan’s sanctuary and working at Integram was his everyday joy. Dan loved leaving for work, and he loved coming home every day to fulfill his role as a father, husband, brother, son, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and neighbour which made him proud and complete.
Throughout Dan’s 47-year journey, one of his greatest attributes was his faith in God. During his happiest times he celebrated God’s love with his loved ones and during his hardest times he held on to God’s love with his whole mind, body and soul. He was and he always will be remembered as our Hero and Symbol of Strength. As his grandmother, Magdalena, used to say, “When we no longer see the ones we love most and we miss their presence here on earth, they will be present in our heart’s forever.” Dan taught us that unconditional love conquers all obstacles, and it always wins.
Thank you to the committed doctors and staff of Victoria Hospital. Dr. Gray, Dr. Mujoomdar and the extraordinary Dr. Ladley and his dedicated team who never gave up on Dan’s determination to fight right to the end. We would also like to thank Dr. Kennette and her team for the ongoing support she provided for Dan and his family. Additionally, we would like to send our sincerest gratitude to Hospice of Windsor staff and volunteers who took exceptional care of Dan and his family and friends. Hospice surrounded all of us with a caring and loving atmosphere so we could make treasured everlasting memories with Dan.
