Obituary of Harbans Brar

BRAR- Harbans Kaur

"In loving memory of Sardarni Harbans Kaur, born on August 18, 1935, in un-partitioned Punjab, a beacon of Sikh values. Her life began amid the 1947 partition when their family migrated to the village Mahaon, near Khanna from Chak 74, Layalpur. Being the eldest among seven siblings, she inherited and upheld these values from her family.

Harbans Kaur married Sardar Gurnam Singh, a renowned football player and coach from Village Nangal Kalan, passing these values to their children. Her son, Devinder Pal Singh, settled in Canada with his two sons; while her daughter, Gurdeep Kaur, and her kids, settled in Punjab.

Harbans Kaur faced adversity with grace, losing her husband at 47. She witnessed historic moments that few are privileged to see. She spent her final 1.5 years in Canada, embraced by the love of her family and great-grandkids. Her era came to a peaceful close on January 29, 2024, as she recited the name of Waheguru. Her legacy, a testament to generational values, shines brightly as the embodiment of a great soul. ."
