I knew when she was a librarian at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. One day, she had subsituted my grade 7 class. She had this self serving idea, just because she had found herself at Oxley retreat, she thinks she had the complete liberty to perform her own forced religious conversion by having the whole class make a thank you drawing to the priest who conducted the confirmation retreat whom I found rather boorish and self centred, which that is another story altogether, I anyhow went with my better instincts and made a complete different drawing while she walked around treating the classroom like it was nothing more than her own jailhouse. When she saw what I was doing she rudely yet forcefully grabbed my paper away and I grabbed it right back. Then she got nasty, came down at me and severely demanded why the reaction. She wouldn’t let me alone about it. She bullied me like an overgrown schoolyard brute until I was to submit to her demands. Then she got as condescending, and winked at me as if to say as long as I was good little broken down house pet and do as I was completely told, everything will be all right. In the meantime she had no respect to my need to speak or stand up for myself. As for my right to choose, apparently that wasn’t in line with her narrow minded religious views. Just for doing something different, that day, it should’ve been best left like water sliding off the duck’s back, never was the reflection of who she was or for her to been taken far too personally. Nor for her to treat me like some full blown delinquent who had seriously broken a law until I learn to be a good little submissive house-pet who was to live no other under that overly domineering thumb. No skin off my own nose what became of her. A real God would never meant for me to be bullied around by so called church going types like her.
