July 27, 1947 - January 9, 2024
It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of John, our beloved husband, father and grandpa in Naples, Florida, at the age of 76. John entered into eternal life while surrounded by his loving wife and children. Beloved husband and soulmate to Antoinette (nee Semaan) with whom he celebrated 51 years of blessed marriage. Loving and devoted father to his children, Cynthia Chemello and husband Dave of Amherstburg, Paulette Jagatic and husband Tom (TJ) of Tecumseh, Valerie Coletti and husband Michael of Windsor. Cherished Grandpa to Chiara Luciani, Gabriella, Luka and Isabella Jagatic, and Matteo Coletti. Adored brother to the late Frances Bray, and uncle to Kimberly Lee and husband Patrick. Predeceased by parents Mark and Pauline Hanna and in-laws, Joseph and Antoinette Semaan. Dear brother in-law to John Semaan and wife Bertha, late Tony, Jacqueline, and Michael Semaan, Bakhos Semaan, Ava Bolduc and husband Martial; all of Leamington. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. John served with the United States Armed Forces in the Vietnam War from 1969-1971. John retired as a General Manager from Midwest Suspension and Brake in Mt. Clemens, MI. He was an avid sports fan of the Detroit Red Wings, Lions, Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines. John will be fondly remembered as a social butterfly who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and playing golf and hockey. He was a devout Catholic, Eucharistic Minister and usher at the former St. Gabriel's Church and a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Family and friends will be received at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave., South Windsor (519) 253-7236 on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Parish Prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. from the funeral home then to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church (4401 Mount Royal Dr. at Cousineau Rd.) for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Committal Services, Presentation of the flag by the United States Armed Forces and Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
