Obituary of Jelena Maksimoska

It is with heavy hearts and immeasurable sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Jelena passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on January 12, 2024 at 89 years of age. Reunited with her beloved husband Aleksandar ‘Sandro’ (1999), whom she shared 46 years of marriage. Cherished and loving mother to son Vaso and daughter-in-law Desa. Dearest mother to daughter Vaska (and family). Loving grandmother to granddaughters Ivana (Adam), Stefani, and Andriana (Nick). Adored great-grandmother to Emma, Aleksander, and Milania. Reunited with her loving father Nofo and mother Paca, and siblings Stojadin, Ljube, Jelica, Ivan, and Mita. Survived by her sister Menka.
 

Jelena had a very big heart and lived life to the fullest by doing the simple things she loved most - going on walks, enjoying the summer sun, gardening, and watching her favourite television shows the Price is Right and the Wheel of Fortune. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family. She took pride in loving, caring, and providing for her family, even into her older years, like the amazing Makedonska Majka and Baba that she was. She taught her family many wonderful things, except how to live without her. Baba Jelena ‘Baba Ena’ leaves behind her lovely memories to be cherished by all those who were lucky enough to be touched by her strength, passion, and perseverance. Mama Jelena will forever be grateful for her loving son Vaso, who spent the last few years alongside his mila Majka, caring and loving her until the end. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at WRH - Met Campus, 4th floor for their compassionate care and support.
 

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Banwell Location, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E, Windsor (519-253-7253) on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 2-5 and 6-9 p.m. with prayers at 7:00 p.m. The services will begin at the funeral home on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. then proceeding to St. Nicholas Macedonian Church, 5225 Howard Ave., Windsor for the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Cemetery.
