Obituary of Brian Friend
FRIEND-Brian
Brian Friend was born on August 28th 1971 and died on January 10th 2024. He was 52 years old. Beloved son of Noemi Friend and the late Douglas Friend (March 30th 2023). Brian was brother to Amy Friend, Sarah Budd (Friend) and brother-in-law to Manuel Abascal Olivera and Ken Budd. He was uncle to Dakota (Steven), Severina, Parker and Isabel and a friend to thousands, literally thousands. While attending St. John Vianney grade school he was selected by the provincial government to be a page at Queens Park and was valedictorian of his graduating class. Brian attended FJ Brennan high school and furthered his education at Western and Dalhousie Universities. Brian in his early years played hockey and as a teenager he loved wind surfing. As an adult he followed most sports favouring football. He was irrelevantly witty, funny as hell and always the life of the party. Brian was a voracious storyteller and an absolute movie connoisseur. He worked in restaurants and management in the home building industry and was proprietor of his bar “Friendly’s”. He adored his dog, Snickers, who never left his side. We loved Brian dearly through thick and thin and will miss him with all our hearts.
