Obituary of Irene Helen Andriash

ANDRIASH, Irene (nee Pawlowicz) passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 5, 2024, at Windsor Regional Hospital - Ouellette Campus, at the age of 75 years after a 35 year long battle with cancer. Beloved wife of John Andriash with whom she shared 51 years of marriage, predeceased by her infant brother Paul (1960) and parents Helena (2009) and William (1963) Pawlowicz. Cherished mother of Noreen Marchand and her husband Adam of Mississauga; Ron Andriash and his wife Angela of Windsor; and Katherine Bell of Thunder Bay. Dear grandmother of Adyson and Nathan Marchand; and Cayden and Kolton Bell and dear best friend of Mary Ann Lazor of Windsor. Also survived by her brother Peter (Anne) Pawlowicz, and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by all those whose lives were lucky enough to be touched by her strength and passion, including family members, friends, coworkers and students she taught both at Vincent Massey and Riverside Secondary Schools and fellow parishioners and Ladies’ Group Members at St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation or The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel - Banwell Chapel 11677 Tecumseh Road E. (519-253-7235) on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024, from 2-4pm and 6-9pm. Prayers/Panachyda will be held at 7:30pm. Visitation will continue Wednesday, January 10th, 2024, from 10am until time of service at 11am. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
