Obituary of Anna Wilson

WILSON, Anna Marie

Anna Wilson (née Marentette) passed away peacefully late in the evening of December 31 at Hospice Windsor. She is survived by her loving family: brothers Jean Paul, Bob (Margaret) and Chris (Karen). She is also survived by her daughter Pam Wilson (Chris Fuerth), son Jeff Wilson (Lindsay Badz), grandchildren Kailli Wilson, Jordyn Wilson, Ethan Fuerth, and great-granddaughter Rachel Wilson.

Anna lived a life brimming with passion and love. Golf was her great passion, not just for the game itself but for the camaraderie she found with her fellow players, especially her beloved Gerry Redmond, who preceded her in death in January 2016. She found joy on the greens, forming lasting connections through her shared love of the sport.

In her younger years, Anna excelled in figure skating as well as roller skating. Throughout her life she loved to stay active with activities such as dancing and bowling. Her vitality and zest for life were evident in every pursuit she undertook.

As a dedicated hairstylist, Anna's connections to her clients extended far beyond the salon chair. She built enduring relationships with clients who became like family, some remaining loyal friends and customers for over 50 years.

In her final days, Anna was surrounded by the unwavering love and support of her immediate family, in-laws, neighbours, cherished customers, and dear friends from the courses she golfed at. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love during this difficult time.

In honor of Anna's life, the family requests that donations be made to the Windsor-Essex Hospice in lieu of flowers.

Thank you to the doctors, nurses and entire staff at WRH - Cancer Centre and Met Hospital Oncology Floor and Hospice of Windsor and Essex County for your generosity, compassion and dedication to making Anna as comfortable as possible in her final days.

Anna Wilson will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her empathy, passion, and the enduring connections she made with so many of the people she met.

A Celebration of Life is planned for this Saturday January 6th at the Fogolar Furlan, 1200 North Service Rd. Windsor, from 12:30-3:30. Those who wish to share favourite memories or stories of Anna are welcome to.
