Obituary of Malek Younan

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 69, on December 15, 2023, after a courageous 8 year battle with cancer. Beloved husband of 42 years to Rhonda (nee Azar). Loving father of Jenny West (Jesse), John (Devon), and Jessica Taouil (late John). Adored Jido of Jaxon, James and Jacob West; Owen and Marcus Taouil; Adalyn and Ella Younan. Predeceased by his parents Hanna and Genevieve Younan, his in-laws Fouad and Malka Azar. Dear brother of Theresa Azar (Tony), Helene Younan, Nadia Elias (Joseph), Houda Younan, and the late Joseph Younan. Brother-in-law of Mary Demedeiros (Joe), Joe Azar (Kelly), the late John Azar (Betty), George Azar (Lucy), and Louie Azar (Laurann). Malek will be missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Malek was known for his contagious smile, great humour and big heart. He enjoyed having his coffee with family and friends. Malek loved watching the Leafs and his grandchildren play hockey. He will be missed dearly by everyone.

The family would like to thank Victoria Hospital Cancer Centre, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, the entire care team at Windsor Regional Hospital, especially blood bank services.

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh, Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Monday, December 18, 2023, from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Prayers will be held at 8:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at St. Charbel Church (5700 Outer Dr). Family and friends are invited to meet directly at the Church. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
