Obituary of Carole Penny

Carole Penny passed away peacefully, on December 6, 2023, in Windsor, at the age of 84.

Carole will be remembered fondly by her only son Nicholas (Michèle) and grandchildren Natasha and Bryce. She also leaves behind brother Brian Laming (Rhona) of Birdham, UK and nephews Jeremy and Rupert.

Born Carole Margaret Laming on September 27, 1939, to Leslie and Betty Laming (Bishop) in Lyndhurst, Hampshire, UK, Carole’s early life took place against the backdrop of wartime Britain. Working as a bank clerk for some years, she later spent time living in Montreal, the Netherlands, Bognor Regis, Florida and Windsor.

Gifted with a creative imagination, she had a huge repertoire of great stories from her lifetime, and managed to turn almost any object she found into artwork. Carole was known for her unique optimistic outlook and love of life and its joys. Full of enthusiasm and positivity, she loved a good party, and most of all loved to spend time and share meals with family.

Cremation has taken place. A small private memorial ceremony will be held for family and close friends at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Carole’s memory to the Kiwanis Music Festival Windsor Essex, or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation are welcome.
