Obituary of Chiara Raco

Chiara Raco (nee Bonofiglio) 89 years old passed away suddenly on December 5, 2023, at Windsor Regional Hospital - Metropolitan Campus. Beloved wife of the late Antonio “Mario” Raco. Loving and devoted mother to Maria El-Ahmar and husband Fadi El-Ahmar. Beloved nonna to Alyssia, Sarah, Georges and Natalie El-Ahmar. Predeceased by her parents Luigi and Maria Bonofiglio. Dear sister to the late Francesco and Adelina Bonofiglio. Dear sister-in-law to Assunta and the late Rocco Ieropoli, Bruno and the late Gemma Raco, Domenico Raco and wife Maria of Montreal, Giuseppina Mediati and husband Rocco of Montreal. Predeceased by brother in laws and sister in laws Giuseppe and Elizabetta Raco of Italy, Maria and Francesco Troiano of Montreal, Rosa and Rocco Mediate and Carmela Raco of Youngstown, Ohio. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the caring nurses and doctors in I.C.U and Palliative Care at Windsor Regional Hospital - Metropolitan Campus. Nonna, she wasn't like any other grandmother, nonna was the type of lady that would squeeze your face to say sorry, and instead of just saying “I love you” she would say “I love everybody”. Nonna had seven lemon trees and never thought that it was enough, she'd want to grow more. Let’s not forget to add the fig tree to her collection as well. Nonna was the kind of person that would spend her day baking amazing bread, that she would always make sure to send you home with some after taking her grocery shopping. She would never call the dog by his name, he was “cuchicuchi” to her, and even though that wasn’t his name he still came running to her. She would take each of her grandchildren out for their birthdays, never forgetting the dates and making sure that we all went. We all love you and we'll miss all the little things you've done and said, you will be forever in our hearts. Visitation at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 3048 Dougall Ave, Windsor, ON. Friday December 8,2023 from 3-5pm in the afternoon and in the evening from 7 to 9pm. Funeral Services on Saturday December 9, 2023, at 10:15 am from the Windsor Chapel then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 11 am. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
