Marietta (Sotrillis) Leventis

October 16th, 1946 - November 25th, 2023

Wife of Photios, treasured mother of Debbie (John), Michael, Bill (Alisha) . Adored Yiayia to Emmanuel (Meagan), Frank (Jessica), Tom, Billy, Marietta, Amelia, Sophia, Atticus, Arianna, Frankie, Maria, and Olivia.

Pre- deceased by her parents, survived by her brother Thomas and her sister Anastasia. Also by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She will be dearly missed by her Good friends here and abroad.

Marietta was the matriarch of the family. Always ready with a strong presence tempered with a deep love for her grandchildren. Yiayia was a bright light in her grandchildren's lives. Always ready with a hot meal or a fresh cookie, welcoming you to eat with her followed by the words "eat your too skinny". She love to sneak the kids special treats like Nutella sandwiches, and lots of sweet treats followed by the famous line. "Don't tell your mother or father" Sunday dinners will be her legacy, as she was the most happy when surrounded by her family and when everyone was eating. Of course. The dinners were loud and full of life, and often included a fashion show from yiayia's closet. Her pasta, grape leaves, tsoureki and koulourakia will be greatly missed.

She will also be remembered for her quiet moments, where she sat with you to read you the Greek coffee grinds, telling you all the wonderful things that you would do (or how many babies you will have!) Most of all, she wanted each grandchild to live their own lives, to do what makes them happy, and was continuously proud of all their accomplishments. You are loved and you will be forever missed!

Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL - BANWELL (11677 Tecumseh Rd E) on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 2:00pm until 5:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. With a Thrice Holy Hymn Service at 8:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church (3052 Walker Rd) on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at 11:00am. Burial to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Windsor - Essex Hospice or Windsor Goodfellows.
