Obituary of Francesco Petruso

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Francesco Petruso on November 26, 2023 at the age of 79. Beloved brother of Giuseppe (Maria), Giacomo “Gino”, and Marianna (Francesco Palazzolo). He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews in Italy and cousins in Italy and Canada. Reunited with his parents Bernardo and Rosaria.

Francesco was born on March 15, 1944 in Partinico, Sicily. He immigrated to Windsor when he was 20 years old and worked as a carpenter. He was well known for his dedication to his profession and greatly valued as an experienced tradesman. He had a great love for his family and friends who in turn showed the same love and respect for him. Francesco enjoyed working in his garden, travelling to Italy to spend time with family and vacationing in Cuba because he loved the sea. He especially loved the story of his family and the culture and history of his home town and all of Italy.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E.) 519-253-7234 on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 3-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish Prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, December 1 at 10:30am then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 11am. Memorial donations may be made to the Hospice of Windsor.
