Obituary of Georgios "George" Diakantonis

Passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20th, 2023 at the age of 83 years. Loving husband of the late Chrysanthi (Koutsonicolas). Cherished father of Debbie Triantafillou (Manolis), Sara McLoughlin (Sean), and Sava Diakantonis (Jodi). Beloved grandfather of Chrysanthi, Mihalis, late Georgios, Michael, Chrissa, George, and Olivia. He had an unconditional love for his family.

As a young man, George immigrated to Canada from Rhodes, Greece in 1965, where he built a life and raised a family. George was proud of his lengthy career at Chrysler where he retired after 34 years of service.

He worked hard to keep his cultural values, which he also instilled in his children and grandchildren. George never forgot his roots, and would visit his homeland frequently.

His labour of love was his garden and he enjoyed sharing its abundance with friends and family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, warm smile, and selfless love for all that knew him.

Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. East, 519-253-7235, on Thursday, November 23rd, 2023 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thrice Holy Hymn Service Thursday at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services Friday November 24th, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home, then to Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church for the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
