Obituary of Lieselotte Weber (nee Krauss)

Lotte, in her 94th year, passed away peacefully at Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus on Nov. 20, 2023, with her family at her side.  Predeceased by her husband, Paul (Nov. 2003), her son Peter (Oct. 2014), & her sister Irmgard (2003).  Survived by her sister Doris Fischer in Germany, sons Gerry (Janice), Michael (Heather), Tom and her daughter Doris (Chris Taylor).  Beloved Oma of Nick (Sarah), Julia, Monika (Chris), Nicole, Kris (Bill), Rob, Eric (Mikale), Michelle (Shawn), Kristi (Brad).  Cherished Uhr-Oma of Emily, Sean, Jaelyn, Gabriella, Graham, Audrey, Aidan, Declan, August, Kylie, Madelyn, Jordyn & Lilly.  Much loved Mother-in-Law to Eileen (Bob) & Doris (Tom).  Lotte was born in Stuttgart, Germany on July 4, 1929.  At the young age of 23, she and Paul journeyed by ship to Canada to begin their family and their new lives, first in Toronto, then in Windsor.  Lotte & Paul were the proud owners of the downtown Windsor Canadian Tire from 1964-1999.  Lotte lived for her family.  Nothing and no one made her happier.  She took great pride in cooking up wonderful German meals for her family each day.  We often told her she should have opened a restaurant.  Lotte also loved flowers, music and dancing.  A weekly visit to the Austrian Club or Teutonia Club for dinner & dancing was something she most looked forward to.  She was most proud of being an Oma & Uhr Oma.  Her little Butzeles were always guaranteed to put a huge smile on her face and in her heart.  Our family is grateful for the wonderful care she received in the E.R. and on 5 North, and especially for the kind & compassionate care shown to her by Dr. L. Aoun and Dr. K. Demarco.  The nurses were true angels who cared for Mom like she was their own.  Lastly, there are not enough thank-you’s for Christine Fontaine and her Personal Touch Home Health Care team.  Abby, Kim, Donna, Taunya and many more who compassionately cared for Mom in our home each and every day since 2014.  Each and every one of you has become an honorary member of our family.  Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will take place in the future.  While we appreciate the gesture of flowers, we suggest a donation to Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice instead. Arrangements entrusted to Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Banwell (519-253-7235).
