Obituary of Aigbomoidi Fidelis John Atogwe

On November 16, 2023, surrounded by his family, Aigbomoidi Fidelis John Atogwe was called to heaven where he was reunited with his mother, father, all those who passed before him and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Aigbomoidi Fidelis John Atogwe was a remarkable man who journeyed from Nigeria to create a legacy of love and dedication built on a foundation of his faith in the Lord and His Word.

As a devoted husband of 51 years, he cherished every moment with his beautiful wife and best friend, Babianna Atogwe, building an unbreakable bond that withstood life’s many trials and tribulations. Their marriage was defined by raising their family and creating the life of their dreams. Aigbomoidi and Babianna made lasting memories attending parties with family and friends, being proud members of the Nigerian community and traveling together to see the world and their children as each other’s most perfect companions. Their marriage was one of the greatest love stories, embodying love at first sight beginning on July 16, 1972 and lasting for all eternity.

Aigbomoidi was an extraordinary father, tirelessly working at Ford Motor Company for nearly 40 years to provide for his four children whom he was so profoundly proud of. Through hard work and sacrifice, he not only provided a rich life but also instilled in his children the values of hard work and discipline, education, family and enjoying life to the fullest. His children Olereh (Kip), Imokhai (Danielle), Oshioakpemeh (Ryan), Oshiomogho (Jill) would tell you firsthand the gift it was to call him daddy. He also loved Etsemeuno (Beth), Omoalukhe (Deon), Onomoraweje, Omozuafo as if they were his own. His unwavering commitment to family was a testament to his strength and selflessness.

As a grandfather, Aigbomoidi radiated warmth and pure happiness. His love for family was evident in the stories he shared, the lessons he imparted, and the joy he found in witnessing his family's growth. He will be immeasurably missed by his grandchildren Oshioreame, Omonogeho, Emike, Arren, Andoni, Oshiolema, Enike, Keogena, Nolua, Daison, Daitham, Zeameh, and Enakhe and the grandchildren of the Aliu family. In the tapestry of his life, Aigbomoidi wove a legacy of love, resilience, and the pursuit of the Canadian dream while part of his heart remained with his dear family and loved ones in Nigeria; survived by his five brothers, Imhone, Henry, Irekhe-egbe, Imhomo, Ogieagha and one sister, Grace. He will also be deeply missed by Mr. Aliu and his wife Alice and many lifelong friends.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love him - what a blessing it was.
