Obituary of Anna Bappert

With heavy hearts and fond memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Anna Bappert on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the age of 95. Anna was the beloved wife of the late Philippe Bappert, and also predeceased by her son, Edward Bappert. She will be sadly missed by her loving daughter, Ruth Ottenbrite (David), grandsons Andrew McDowall (Stephanie) and Scott McDowall (Natalie), and great grandsons, Dylan and Brady. Anna’s life was a rather remarkable tale of a brave immigrant who, with her own prince Philippe, took a chance on our great country and were rewarded with a wonderful life filled with friends and loving family. The caring St Michael’s Catholic Church community embraced Anna and Philippe and it became central to their lives and ability to make many friends. Anna served as the President of the St. Michael’s Catholic Women’s League on 2 separate occasions and was a long standing member. Anna's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Stirling Heights Long Term Care for their excellent care. Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 20, 2023 at 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor. Interment will follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, 5005 Howard Ave., Windsor. Donations in Anna’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
